Inevitably we all will face situations in our lives that change us forever. How we respond to those situations says much about our character, and our faith. Do we overcome the challenge and use it as an opportunity to better ourselves and others, or do we wallow in self pity and remorse? Time does indeed heal all wounds but how we treat that wound determines whether it leaves a nasty scar in our soul or renews our spirit, making it fresh and clean.
My own life was irrevocably changed in 2004. Although it took 5 years to finally heal the wound, my faith in God and my desire to serve his will renewed my spirit and gave me a new purpose and a new passion. I would like to share my testimony with you, in the hope that it might inspire you, or anyone you chose to share it with, to overcome your own challenges.
I lead a small group, the Board of Trustees of our organization, not as a pastor, as a minister, as a priest or any other title. Not even as a member of that Board. I am merely a man, who has suffered greatly, that has been chosen by God to deliver a message. That Board now looks to me to guide them spiritually as they work to save something precious. That is my sole purpose now. My reason for being. There is no other and I dedicate what remains of my life to it.
I seek your prayers to help restore what has been broken. The challenges my new passion of purpose entails are monumental and I know only God can provide what is needed. Only by the prayers of thousands can we hope to reach our goal. Please pray for us in our task and ask your congregations to pray for us as well. Let not this sanctuary and this House of God die.
