My name is Leslie and I am the founder and director of Faces of Hope Children's Therapy Center. We're a Christian not for profit that is committed to lending and restoring hope to children and families with autism and other special needs. I am also a single mother to two little boys with autism.
I joined pastors.com for encouragement and support. I was thrilled to see this group because I am hungry for a group to pray with and to share my prayer requests.... Right now my biggest request is that you help me pray for wisdom and discernment. Our board has recently made the decision to hire another full time therapist, but we have no idea how we will pay her salary-- we just know God's telling us to hire her.
Please pray for that situation-- for direction, patience, and wisdom. I also ask that you pray for the families that we are serving-- so many are so desperate and have turned their back on God because they don't believe a loving God would give them a child with autism or any other disability. They are so often without hope. Pray, too, that God take care of my little boys-- that He gives me strength and wisdom to do what is best for them, that the fatigue that seems to sneak up on me is a bit more controlled. Just pray.
Our website is www.facesofhopetn.com --- there is plenty to see-- it might help you pray more specifically if you can see what you are praying about.
This group is an answer to prayer for me. God bless all of you-- and thank you so much for your prayer.
Dear Leslie,
my name is Marco, I live in Italy, and I'm a pastor of a small church. I'm father of two wonderful boys, 10 and 8, the first one with ADD and (mild) Asperger. I know a little of all the troubles and the struggles a parent must face in order to give to a child with special needs all the possibilities to develop at his best his potentials. Sometimes, as parents, we feel we are alone to faith aganist "a rubber wall" trying to have some help from the institutions (here in Italy there is an almost complete lack of anything to help children and parents in such a situation), finding only in the Lord the strengt to carry on. Every time I praise the Lord to be our source of energies and wisdome for our boy.
I just want to let you know how much is important the ministry that God gave to you; you are and will be a blessing for both children and parents, and a living testimony of God's love.
I will pray for you.
God bless.
Marco
