My page says I'm not a member of any church groups.

What is the point of having a group for your church?  Is this mainly for staff pastors and such who want to communicate through the forum?

I'm wondering because if the site is geared mainly to pastor, there doesn't seem to be a need to start a church group.

Of course, it's more than possible that I just don't get it.  And on a Saturday afternoon as I try to get my sermon ready for tomorrow (and being thankful that we don't have an evening service...Yes), this is probably the likely case!

This wouldn't bug me so much, except that when I go to my home page, there's this big red notice about this.  And since I'm a major people-pleaser who cares what others think about me, I don't want to be seen as being defective by having this notice...

Thanks!

I tried to edit my post, but got a big error message, so I'll just add something here.  (Besides, I get some more points for posting!)

I attempted to start a church group for my church today, but got another error message...

Maybe my computer needs the coffee more than me!

I had the EXACT same question!  I didn't know why I would need to start a church group since I'm the only one from our church that will use it.  But I did fill out the "create a church group" page, but there was no "done" button (you know . . . enter) and the only button was "lookup".  I don't know if that is to look up the zip code, since that's where the button is located, but I get an error message every time I've tried.

If anyone has any wisdom to share, I would like to hear it.

This is my problem as well.  Hoepfully someone with knowledge will have mercy and help us move forward to "connectedness".

Well, I was finally able to start a group/list my church.  Don't know why it wouldn't let me all the other times I've tried it, but I guess I snuck through!

I have the same red message saying I'm not part of a church group. I thought it just meant that as far as p-com knows, I don't even go to church.

Which will sort of be true at the end of August, when I leave my current position Cool

I put OXLWF on there in case it was useful but I just cannot interest the other leaders probably because we see each other pretty often anyway, so why do we need a group. Then again I thought it might be interesting to see what other churches are up to but that is not really the purpose either. Finally because we became OXLWF Ministries last week I needed to change the group that I cannot find a need for and I can find no way to edit, a search does not bring it up, and the groups page doesn't let you go beyond A!Stick out tongue

I wish I knew where I was going wrong but I have tried and tried.

To be honest the best thing about the new site is the blogs. I think I preferred when you could see all the posts in one place and take your pick from the sidebar as I spend a lot of time going from a to b on here and getting lost!

Also I am worried I will offend people by not making everyone my friend!

Brian, your page is funny! So is mine. I wasn't asked a denomination, though I'm a senior pastor of the church I'm overseeing. i don't think that God looks at the denomination, though we have them for mere identification. Stay blessed!

I'm Joseph who is willing to add you as a friend if you do permit me.

Your message is so touching, and I have learnt to be an example to others if they will emulate christian character. God bless you.

I wanna be a friend and add you as a friend but you ought too find peace with it.
