When will the old/archived forum be available? I'd like to link to some old stuff (e.g., merger thread, etc.) when it's available. I'm not in a hurry; just wondering if there's a timeline.
Thanks!

Randy,
I just accessed the old forum by going to "tools" and using the link there. I still had to use my old password but it took me to the old forum.
By the way, when are you going to show us a picture of your front side???
Thanks. But when I go that route, all I see is the Open Forum.
My guess is, the new archived version will just be a click away (right there in the Tools section). I was just wondering if there was a timeline for it.
Re: a new photo, yeah, maybe someday.
I feel like an old fart saying this, but I miss the old forum. This new area is OK in a MYSPACE kind of thing, but I just can't find what I'm looking for.

I agree, I like the new home page kinda myspace/facebook but wish we still had the forum too.

That's a great idea. If they could incorporate the old forum into this new style. And i'm not talking about just archive forum stuff. THat would be great.
I don't expect the old forum to be revived. Theoretically, the Groups here should replace the old forum.
However, it seems to me that most of the conversation here on the new site is taking place through blogs. Personally, I'd like to see more conversation in the Groups (where there is currently very little).
Randy, I think you are right about the "blog action." I started a group on vision casting (Launching Churches). There just doesn't seem to be much traffic in the Group area. Of course, it could be that nobody is interested in the topic.
It seems like there is no page that shows "all the action" like there was on the old forum. I think that is by design.
I hope some of the conversation can be ongoing, but i think Randy is right that most thoughts and conversations are on blogs. I wonder how many members are here and what the plans are to "publicize" the pastors.com site. I started a bivo forum which started off strong, but has seemed to fade.
BTW, in case I haven't said it, I like the new format (I was one who felt a significant change was overdo), and I'm fine with the blog interaction -- I just hope that the Groups will become more active.

I don't think it's just your topic, Jack. Just before lunch, I checked the 10-12 groups I'm a member of (loaded all at once in tabs) and there were no new posts in any of them since the last time I checked (once/day or so).
Although, I will say that the One-Point Preaching group I started has had a decent bit of action overall (even though that's not the kind of group that I'd expect to be overly active due to it very specific nature, but other groups that I would expect to be active haven't been).

Is there a way to have all of your groups on one page like that? All my groups are loaded on my "home page" here at Pcom, but I think it would be easier to have them all grouped in a separate page.

I had to clean my office for my avatar picture. Maybe I should take pictures more often...

Actually, Brian, they're not all on one page -- I load each one of them in a separate tab (I bookmark the "discussions" page of each group, not the home page of each group so that I can see each of the threads in the group). In my browser (Safari, but Firefox can do it too), I can load all bookmarks in a folder at one.
me too. forums and blogs are two different things with two different purposes. forums are more conversational. I can't find what I'm looking for in this new format. When I go to the old forum I can't find the categories that I've always read. good attempt but not very functional for me.

Any ideas where we can find "job seekers" like we could in the old forum. I'm just a dinosaur that was comfortable in the old forum.
