Good article.

Whenever I listen to a politician speak, I take it with a grain of salt. Wenever they talk about faith and/or quote the Bible, I take it with two. Stick out tongue

Whether democrat or republican or independant or other, I tend to take faith-talk from poiliticians with an entire salt mine.

Even if they personally have a real and vital faith life, that doesn't mean that their interpretation of what that means politically has any Biblical validity, theological consistancy or appropriate practical application.

But on the other hand, I've long been disturbed by the wholesale assignation (by many) of religious orthodoxy to the republican party.  The GOP certainly does NOT have a lock on Christianity and is (in my opinion) just as often off the mark as the democrats - just in different areas and differing ways.  So it is somewhat refreshing to see democrats reclaiming some of the Biblical territory.

Blessings!
